Sugar Hill - Vintage Entertainment !

Adorable Josefine, one of the hostess, greets guests - Welcome to Sugar Hill ! Vintage Entertainment at its best!

Anna and Mårten came, Anna in her new dress that she made herself!

Lots of vendours. Here Sivletto.

Marcus or better known as "Mackan" - a great dancer, teacher and connoisseur of vintage swing life!

Is'nt this pretty! This is some of the many delightful things that were available.

This young lady always does her hair to perfection, but that night I was privy to seeing just how much effort goes into getting the curls to look that effortless ;)

Tomas, Madelins beau - what a trouper - he was everywhere helping out!

Sandra, another of the hostesses looking smashing.

Anna decided to treat herself to a vintage make-over!

Sweet Sharon working away nail by nail.

Then it was time for a little entertainment (Will you belive I forgot to take photos of my own jazz performance ....)

Swinging at Sugar Hill!

Finally home at 2 a.m exhausted, but oh so happy ! I bought a dark blue vintage dress and I danced till my feet hurt! Can't wait till next year! :)

TIKI ROOM !

Tiki Room

The seating area at The Tiki Room

So, last  weekend was packed with fun! There was a big vintage event that my vintage pal Madelin and here girlfriends arranged. But we started with a little Hawaiian inspired get together the evening before at Tiki Room.

Madelin was looking stunning

As was her charming beau Tomas who had agreed to be my dance partner at the lindy hop class the  next day. As he needed any lessons... :)

Savouring the drink Tomas, ever the gentlemen,  bought me

Lady Kamikaze the dj for the event. Tomoko was simply a delight to get to know! And the dress she was wearing...

Britta and  Miriam all dressed up!

Sharon Trickett, the vintage manicurist from Minnie Moon  and also from London. Charming young lady! You can find her Facebook page here. Sharon is wearing the same kind of vintage polynesian dress that Tomoko is wearing - superb!

Josefin and Sandra, the two other hostess of the Sugar Hill Event and great girls!

Tomoko, Josefine and Sharon - ready to party!
Also - still having major blogger problem with the new lay-out ... :(

Vintage Hairstyles

The Lisa Conakry Hairstyle

It took long time before I came to love my hair growing up as I did in Sweden, land of blond-long -a-blowin' in the wind kind of hair :) But now I LOVE my hair. Black hair is so resilient and versatile! That said I still have to work it to get it into a vintage hairstyle. But I'm very inspired by my vintage pal Madelin.

Madelin

She is always wearing eloquent hairstyles, but then of course she is a stylist and arranges the most fabulous vintage weddings! :)

The Suzanne Abuja Hairstyle

The Jenny Dakar Hairstyle

I try to find different styles and have fun with them. That's why I give them names :)

I use hair rats of course. I have two medium sized ones. I've thought of buying a little bigger one too.
Sometimes I just do a scarf hairstyle. Actually I wish I had more scarfs. Hm... must put on my "to-buy-list".

My everyday going out shawl and the glasses I bought in LA, oh why oh why did I not buy 10 pairs!! They came in different colours.

By the way: The new Blogger format is so annoying!! I can't get my pictures or my text to be where I want it...

Jazz Royal

So, after two weeks up in Lappland I was rather exhausted and didn't feel like attending this event. Thank God, I pulled myself together and went. It was simply a great evening of music and dancing!

Madelin and Thomas were there of course.

As was Mårten and Anna.

What a great gal she is !

This is what the scene was like. Bear with me it's my first video clip. Don't forget to stop the Vintage Music Playlist before you press play ! :)

So What Have I Been Up To ???

First of all Spring is here, no matter the snow infused rain or the now and then glumy skies, its coming !

So happy, belated Easter to all!

Coming back from LA there was so much to do! Granted I am inbetween jobs at the moment, but that is not the same as out of work... :)

As I wanted 2012 to be more about socializing I gave a little pre-cinema party. The invitation was to have a glass of wine and some snacks before heading of to see The Artist ( my second time, first tiem was in LA)

My dance class mate Anna came with her beau Mårten.

As did my fab vintage pal Madelin with her boyfriend Thomas.

Then there was Josefin. Isn't that just the most beautiful little beaded jacket ever!

Josefin tries the LA dress I ruined. It fit her like a glove ! With my boa she looks the perfect glamorous 1940s socialite.

Madelin joins her wearing one of her many superb vintage knits that her mother knits for her (so envious!).

Later that evening we were joined by the ever pretty vintage blogger Miriam Parkman.

Then I went up to Lapland, to Kiruna, to polish a play that I directed and that's been chosen for a theatre festival - What's up Sapmi. You can read more on my website.

It was still winter there, but it was glorious as the winter up north is dry and rich with thick snow!

Neo loved it!
